Staying Positive: Redundancy, Resting Faces, and Better Days Ahead…
Let me set the scene: I’m deep in thought, concentrating on something important & someone comes along with that classic line: “Smile, it can’t be that bad!”
If only they knew the gears turning in my mind! My face might say “doom and gloom” but inside, I’m just focusing…or maybe thinking about my next walk with the dogs! Positivity isn’t about grinning through every moment. It’s about resilience, reflection & knowing brighter days are ahead #MindsetShift.
Redundancy: The Reality Check
When redundancy hit, I wasn’t smiling either. It wasn’t just about losing a job…it felt like losing direction, confidence & even part of my identity. Tough days became the norm & yes, my “resting face” probably said it all.
But here’s what I’ve learned: positivity doesn’t mean pretending everything is fine. It’s about:
Feeling the hard days
Giving yourself permission to rest & recuperate
Believing that better days are on the horizon
Sometimes, the best thing you can do is take downtime - step back, recharge & reconnect with what brings you joy. For me, that meant long walks in nature with my fur babies, where the fresh air helped clear my head & they reminded me of life’s simple pleasures #ReignitePurpose #PersonalGrowth.
Turning the Struggle Into Growth
🔥 Reframing Challenges as Opportunities
NLP teaches us that “every behaviour has a positive intent”. At first, this made me roll my eyes…what’s the positive intent of redundancy? But as time passed, I realised it was a chance to reassess, rediscover my purpose & explore new paths.
🔥 Celebrating Small Wins
Progress isn’t always about big milestones. Some days, the win was just taking that walk, feeling the breeze on my face & reminding myself that I was moving forward - no matter how slowly! Those moments built momentum & confidence #LifeTransitions.
🔥 Finding Clarity
I started asking myself better questions: “What’s possible for me now? What truly matters to me?”. Those answers didn’t come all at once, but with each step forward, the fog lifted.
A Cheeky Truth About Positivity
Staying positive doesn’t mean you’re always “on”. It’s okay not to feel okay! It’s okay to have resting faces that don’t reflect the fire burning inside! Plus it’s okay to take a breather when you need it.
What matters is knowing:
Tough days don’t define you
Rest is part of growth
Brighter days are closer than you think #RedundancySupport #CoachingTools.
If you’re navigating redundancy or a big life transition, know this: every step you take (song lyrics spring to mind🎶!)…whether it’s resting, reframing, or moving forward…brings you closer to where you want to be. Brighter days are waiting, lets chat about it!
