Mistakes, Lessons & a Cheeky Mindset Shift!

Oh boy have I made mistakes! From “Why did I say that out loud?” to “Did I just spend an hour scrolling memes instead of working?” Life transitions…like redundancy or retirement, have a way of magnifying those “oops” moments. But here’s the secret: mistakes aren’t failures; they’re lessons in disguise!

Let’s turn those “I wish I had...” moments into “I’m owning this!”

1. No Failure, Only Feedback (with a Side of Sass)

🔥 NLP says there’s no failure, only feedback. I mean, if your brain can convince you that reheated tea is okay, it can reframe some challenges too. Instead of “I wish I were more productive,” let’s try:

  • “I will create a daily routine that works for me...& still leave time for Netflix”
    Or my personal favourite:

  • “I will call my snack breaks ‘strategic thinking sessions’”

The key? STOP letting those little hiccups derail you. Laugh at them & move on!

2. DISC Profiling: Find Your Flavour of Fabulous

🔥 DISC helps you understand your natural style. Think of it as your personality cheat sheet.

  • If you’re a D (Dominance): You could be the Beyoncé of getting things done…just add a plan

  • If you’re an I (Influence): You could just channel that charm! Use your connections to bring your ideas to life

  • If you’re an S (Steadiness): You could be as loyal AF, but remember to put yourself first sometimes

  • If you’re a C (Compliance): You could just have spreadsheets…now just sprinkle in a little action

Honestly, DISC is like a vibe check for your life. Use it to build better connections & align with what lights you up.

3. Coaching for Change (& Giggles)

🔥 Coaching isn’t about me sitting here wagging my finger at your to-do list (unless you ask for that…it’s your journey!). It’s about turning those “I wish” moments into “I will & I’ll look good doing it.”

Some real-life examples:

  • “I wish I had stronger relationships” becomes “I will reach out to friends for brunch & ensure we split the bill on what we had!”

  • “I wish I could find more time for myself” becomes “I will book that spa day because…hello, I deserve it”

Progress is progress, whether it’s a spa day or finally organising that drawer full of random cables.
